Amazon Kindle: Great Reading in the New Year
By Julia on January 2, 2011, 11:24 am
Rarely asking for large-ticket items for Christmas, I carefully placed a cut-out of a Kindle advertisement on my husband’s computer keyboard (a sure-fire way to get something immediately noticed!) Not even a half hour later, the questions began to fly: “What kind of Kindle do you want, honey?” I learned that there were, of course, more options than I wanted to deal with at that moment. I relied on my husband to get me the details I needed to make the best decision, and another half hour later, I had the information I needed.
Kindle users will be able to loan an e-book they’ve purchased to a friend for two weeks, and they won’t need to own a Kindle to read it, either. The book can be enjoyed via the Kindle apps for the PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, BlackBerry or Android.
Kindle book lending
“At this time, Kindle book lending can only be initiated by customers residing in the United States. If a loan is initiated to a customer outside the United States, the borrower may not be able to accept the loan if the title is not available in their country due to publisher geographical rights.”
